So Much Depends Upon…

So much depends upon

My HP laptop, swirled with  design

It stores all my information

Keeping me from falling behind

I lug it with me everyday

To make sure I don’t lose my way

It completes all the work as I merely press buttons

I use it so much I should be called a glutton

“Where I am From”

“Where I’m From…”

I am from blue –n- white china,

From picnic tables to long dining tables.

I am from wood stoves to electric stoves,

From Mason jars and Ziploc bags.

I am from rocking chairs on the front porch,

From watching the grass grow to swinging on monkey bars.

I am from tractors and horses,

From plowing the garden to feeding the chickens

I am from grape vines and walnut trees.

I am from Eddie and Gail

From parents to grandparents

I am from Nanny and Daddaw,

From “That’s  bout enough” to “Megan Coralee Shell!”

I am from homemade biscuits and gravy

From banana pudding to pound cake

I am from waffles with butter in every square,

From grilled hamburgers and hot dogs.

I am from all of the memories,

Kept in old photo albums under the coffee table

I am from all these memories and these memories make me.
