Goldilocks and The Three Bears

Retold and Illustrated by:

James Marshall

Puffin Books, 1998

Summary: Goldilocks’ mother asked her to run an errand and told her to stay away from the short cut in the forest because it was dangerous. Goldilocks disobeyed her mother and took the short cut and came upon a nice little house. She entered the house and made herself at home by eating their porridge, sitting in their chairs, and sleeping in their beds. When the owners of the home arrived they found their house in a wreck and Goldilocks asleep in Baby Bear’s bed. She awoke frightened and jumped out of the window and ran away.

I used the word amused, too. I think the picture on that page that says he was NOT amused is hilarious. Cute story, huh?
